Spent the weekend in West Virginia

p class="mobile-post">We spent the holiday weekend in West Virginia at this cabin. The place we stayed was like a huge ranch and it had zeebras, goats, lions, tigers, kangaroos, and a bunch of other mispalced animals. Very strange but fun! We went white water rafting on the New River on Saturday and had a blast. Apparently, West Virginia has some of the best white water in the world although it's more brown than white.

Today we are back in Chicago packing up for our flight to London. We leave tonight and arrive in London at 11:00 AM on June 1st. Talk to you soon, and thanks for all the comments. It's great to hear from you.

Updating our blog with a cellphone?

We are planning on sending updates to our blog using our cell phone. This is a test posting and photo from my parents house looking at Freemont.

Countdown to Europe

So we managed to rent out our house to a wonderful couple (and their 2 year old son) that just returned from Nepal. They are due with a second child very soon and needed a place quick! We are looking forward to seeing the newest addition to their family when we return. Everything else is just about wrapped up. My last day of work was Friday and Heather is done today. All of our bags are packed, the bikes are in boxes and we are ready to take off on Wednesday.

First stop... West Virginia! What? I thought you were going to Europe. Well, we are but we wanted to spend a little time with our midwest family first. So river rafting in West Virginia is supposed to be pretty good. We shall see. We fly into Chicago and then drive with Heather's sister Cathleen to WV. We actually fly out of Chicago on May 31st and arrive in London at 11:00 AM on June 1st.

Second stop... London! Once there we plan to spend a few days in the city and then head north to Liverpool. From Liverpool we will high-tail it to Newcastle on the opposite coast and catch a ferry to Stavanger Norway. We plan to see a few of my Norwegian relatives as we cycle along the coast ultimately ending up in Oslo. Beyond that, we only have a general idea of where to head next.

That's it for now and thanks everyone for all your help in getting us to this point. Friends, co-workers and family have all contributed to make this adventure happen for us, thanks.
